Spring Can’t Come Fast Enough

Posted on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 at 4:43 pm

I am so ready for next semester. I’m taking 15 hours right now, since I dropped American Government, and I just registered for the spring semester. This is what I’m taking!

  • Oral Communication
  • Survey of Astronomy/Astronomy Lab
  • Constitutional Law
  • Survey of Astronomy
  • Media Writing (Journalism class)

And I found out David, one of the guys who is going with me on my road trip, is in my Constitutional Law class! That’ll be awesome because he is hilarious. I also declared a minor in Political Science, which should be fun considering my involvement and very high interest in politics. I can’t wait for the spring semester.

It’s weird though, it seems like I just started school and I only have two weeks left before the break. You probably won’t see much of me as finals creep up (just kidding — they are getting here so quickly!), but I will be around.

You’re in College When…

You go to bed at 3 AM and you think to yourself, “Wow, I’m going to bed early tonight!”

School makes my life busy, especially trying to juggle new friends, old ones, dates, and time to myself. I promise I’ll blog soon. :)

P.S. Charles is a fag.

The One With the Backtracking

Okay, so maybe I lied a little bit. Well, not intentionally. Las Vegas was fantastic. I had tons of fun, got to party with a bunch of nerds, and even got stalked for the majority of the trip. There’s something spendidly tacky about Las Vegas, as we passed by many a drive-thru wedding chapels (and, in turn, drive-thru divorces down the street). I never thought I’d truly know the meaning of “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” and now I can tell you: I totally do. (There are way too many incriminating pictures of me now, let’s just say that.)

College, on the other hand, is fantastic and sucky at the same time. It’s fantastic because I’ve been wanting to go to college since I was thirteen years old, I love being in college and going to classes. It sucks because I’m taking eighteen hours of classes, which is kicking my ass. It’s not excessively hard, nothing that I can’t handle, but it just requires a lot more effort than I originally thought (which was naïve at most).  I still get to see Charles and Hannah on more than one occasion, and I’ve been working out like crazy (two hours, four times a week).

Now that I have a leg up on my peers — I have yet to meet one that is taking nearly as many classes as I am — I can take it easy next semester, maybe only take fourteen hours. It would still be a lot more than my peers, most of the girls in my dorm are only taking about 10 to 12 hours.

Anyway, must get off to my Survey Mass Communication class. I promise I’ll blog about something way more interesting than my life. :P

So Whatcha Been Up To, Mate?

I added a new class to the five I’m already taking: Intro to Sociology. My adviser recommended it since it was an easy class, but from reading the grades on Grade My Professor, it doesn’t look that easy. But I don’t want to just have a class I can just sit in and get a good grade. I want to actually work for it. :) I’ll be getting up bright and early Monday through Friday now, having three classes everyday, including my Elementary Italian I night class.

I am going to have to take a class at Southwest Community College since it isn’t offered at the University, an Intermediate Algebra course (which I’ve never claimed to be good at *frowny face*). Thank God I only need one math credit!

In other news, I have been working on four designs for Dinstuhl’s, a candy company here in Memphis, which has taken up a bit of my time, and then next weekend, on the 28th, I’m heading off to Dallas, TX to see my family! Oh, and go to Six Flags. Oh, and bungee jump. Oh, and Medieval Times. (I am bringing my laptop, however — so you won’t be entirely rid of me. Hey! Stop crying!)

Welcome Home

Wow! I’m sorry for being gone so long, the month of May has been terribly busy. I went to prom on May 8th, which was pretty freaking sweet. I got to come down the staircase and they announced my name since I was a senior.
